All-Media Mixer

Joe said approximately 40 people attended the All-Media Mixer on May 26 at Marie Calender’s.  There was a strong turn out from SABJ.  Joe suggested SAAHJ sponsor a quarterly All-Media Mixer.

Donation Request from The Rattler

Funding has been cut for St. Mary University’s award-winning newspaper, The Rattler.  SAAHJ has received a request for a $500 donation.  A discussion followed: Fabby said other universities would expect us to make donations and it would set precedence; Joe agreed. Rebecca Minjarez Villarreal proposed we support one cause per year.  (Rebecca asked Joe to send her a copy of the letter.)   Cynthia Muñoz suggested we ask The Rattler to provide SAAHJ ads, in exchange for the donation.  Elaine Rodriguez moved we have a representative from The Rattler make a donation request presentation to the membership.  Martha Tijerina seconded. The motion carried. Ed Tijerina moved the 2005-2006 executive board set up a donation policy. Rebecca seconded. The motion carried.
